Cyclone 212i
The rugged Cyclone 212i is a 1-phase 240V, modern digital IGBT inverter welding machine that offers up to 230A of MIG output.
It can weld with either an 19 cm or 25 cm wire spool. When welding with an electrode, the output is up to 160A at 35% duty cycle, which can handle most 12.7 cm 70XX electrodes.
Standard 15 series Mig burner. Standard feed roller: V 0.6 – 1.0 mm.
The small body, elegant design and front/rear handles show that this unit is designed to be portable. The Cyclone 212i wire and electrode welder is the ideal tool for both the shop and the jobsite.
The Cyclone 212i has fewer components and semiconductors, meaning that this machine has fewer opportunities for failure, is easier to diagnose and generally provides a longer service life.
In Europe, the machine has a 2-year warranty.
The Cyclone 212i’s new digitally controlled display panel is intuitively designed with polarity reminders and the new PowerSet feature, making setup easier than ever. Every time you plug the machine into the mains, it will analyse the input voltage and automatically set and adjust the machine’s output power, and display an input voltage reminder in case you forget which power level you are working at.
In addition, when selecting a function, the machine will display an animated image and a reminder of which polarity you should be working with. This is important when switching between welding operations such as MIG welding and filler welding or vice versa, where polarity changes and is critical to the welder’s correct performance. The PowerSet feature allows both novice and professional users to use the device with authority without having to search for or re-evaluate the settings options. The design of the device takes into account the wire thickness, metal type and plate thickness entered by the user to provide the user with an excellent starting point for setting the parameters. Of course, no one setting is right for everyone and in every position, but the built-in adjustability of the PowerSet mode allows the user to adjust the settings up or down according to the needs of the job. Of course, the device also works well in the hands of a trained user in the Standard mode, where everything can be adjusted normally.
The Cyclone 212i also has settings such as spot welding time, inductance and burnback, which allow the user to customize the device to their needs in manual mode. In synergic mode, these settings are preset for the user so that they do not have to worry about the details if they do not want to. Of course, do not forget that the PowerSet mode works similarly for stick welding and helps the user match the best electrode with the best power range for the smoothest weld.
With a maximum output of 230A, the Cyclone 212i is aimed squarely at the 200A MIG market, offering a solid 35% duty cycle at 200A. The large color display is easy to see and stands out in brighter lighting conditions. With clear and intuitive function controls and the exclusive PowerSet feature, setup takes just seconds after turning the unit on.
If you want to wire weld aluminum 2.54 cm (1/8″ to 1/4″), the unit can be used with our optional SM200N-MTS spool gun.

PRODUCT NOTES
If using with a generator, the generator must be rated by its manufacture as clean power. This means that the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) is 5% or less. Use with generators that are 10,000 Surge Watts or greater. When using with a generator, failure to use a clean power generator properly rated for the wattage required will void the generator’s warranty.
This unit’s maximum output is 230A @ 15% duty cycle, however at 200A the unit’s duty cycle increases to 35%.
This machine is not designed to weld with E6010.
MINIMUM/MAXIMUM
Weld up to a maximum of 7.6 cm Steel/Stainless single pass weld.
Weld up to a maximum of 2.5 cm Steel/Stainless multiple pass weld.
Weld a minimum of 24 gauge Steel/Stainless.
Purchase the SM200N or SM3035N gun to weld Aluminum or purchase a 0.8 – 1.2 mm 1 piece drive roll kit to weld aluminum along with a polymer liner for the standard 3 m gun.
Weld up to a maximum of 7.6 cm Aluminum single pass weld* 240V
Weld up to a maximum of 7.6 cm Aluminum multiple pass weld 240V
Single pass welds greater than 2.5 cm and 7.6 cm for Steel/Stainless/Aluminum are not generally recommended for this size unit as a sound welding technique with this size machine. These figures are given purely for statement of capability, not of practicality.
When performed by experienced users. Spray transfer with Aluminum is the correct method of MIG welding aluminum. Short circuit welding of aluminum is not recommended as porous welds and lack of fusion will result.
Stick:
Weld with a minimum of 2.5 cm diameter electrode.
Weld with a maximum of 2.5 / 12.5 cm diameter electrode 240V
This unit is not recommended for use with E6010.
Maximum electrode diameter is ultimately dependent upon rod type and electrode manufacturer recommendations.
